CURRENTLY TAKING NEW CLIENTS for clinic, wellness, and home birth settings. And, providing home visits for postpartum. Reach out if you would like a free consult!

As Community Midwives, education, empowerment, and prevention is at the heart of our care. Ideally, we hope to build relationships with our families, allowing the time and space to address health & wellness concerns for best outcomes. Each and every trimester, including the ‘4th’ has its own, very important considerations. Initiating a partnership early on, allows for deep attention to the rite of passage inherent in every pregnancy confirmation.

We also understand that sometimes finding the right practice takes time. As long as we have room, we are accepting 3rd Trimester clients, at minimum before 36 wks. Contact us to learn more!

Pregnancy & Postpartum care

Our HOME BIRTH CARE involves hour-long visits at our Kealakekua clinic, beginning with a home visit early in the pregnancy and again at 35-36 weeks. These longer visits allow time for mental health support, nutrition & exercise guidance, labor & birth preparation, discussion around purposes of labs, genetic screening, and ultrasound & the indication in their results. From 37 weeks onward, we are on-call for you 24/7. There will always be one or two midwives in attendance during labor & delivery, as well as a student midwife &/or birth assistant. We encourage families to involve community for additional emotional & physical support.

In addition to midwifery care, included in the service is massage, mental health support, and access to wholesale dōTERRA products & classes.

For water birth: Our midwives are well-versed and fully support hydrotherapy for labor and birth. If you are interested &/or are in need or tub rental, we can discuss the details in our first prenatal visit.

After delivery, we provide the initial newborn care, and return within 24-48 hrs and again on postpartum day 3. If needed, we are also available for additional lactation counseling, otherwise, the general course is that we return to the home during week one & week two. Our final visit will be in the clinic, sometime between 4-6 weeks. ‘Õhi’a Midwifery & Wellness also provides birth certificate registration.

Additionally, we function as supplemental maternity care providers, for example – if you are seeking herbal consultation, mental health support, &/or need in-home, lactation counseling. We also do postpartum home visits for maternal and newborn care.

FEES FOR SERVICE: Discuss with us our maternal and newborn global fees. We are also open to accepting clients who wish to transfer in from OB/GYN & FQHC care at a discounted rate. Currently taking Kaiser PPO & Medi-Share.

Women’s Health

Our midwives provide FULL-SCOPE CARE including annual exams, preconception counseling, family planning/contraception counseling, inter-conception counseling, STI screening & treatment, pregnancy loss care & counseling, and menopausal care. We provide individualized care in a nurturing environment where there is time for adequate review of history and time to establish health goals. To inform our assessment & plan of care, deep listening is at the core of approach. Long-term relationships within the community translate to an ability to connect clients with the services and support they need.

We also are available to provide health education for teens, in clinic & at our local schools.

FEES FOR SERVICE: Each visit is $150. Your insurance should cover labs, diagnostics, & prescriptions.

Wellness & Childbirth Education

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, SELF-CARE, MINDFULNESS PRACTICES, & BODYWORK are unique components to what our practice provides. Wellness offerings draw from our midwives’ experience with herbalism, nutrition, yogic philosophy & practice, and mental health complementary practices. We also have massage available in-house and in the home. Monthly offerings will include open houses to meet the midwives and our care team, Q & A, birth story community groups, and childbirth education. We also want to hear from the you – what structures you are seeking, to continue developing you own interests in health. Please feel free to write us with your ideas.
